Happy New Year from 24th Parkallen Scouting Group.
Our regular programs will start on January 9, 2013 at the Parkallen Elementary School Gym at 6:30 PM.
24 Parkallen Scout Group is accepting registrations for boys and girls for our Beavers (K - Grade 2), Cubs (Grades 3 - 5), Scouts (grades 6 - 9) and Venturers (grades 10 - 12) programs from September to February. Our scout group has been offering an exciting program for the children of the Queen Alexandra, Allendale, Parkallen, Pleasantview, McKernan and Belgravia communities for over 30 years. Our programs meet every Wednesday at the Parkallen Elementary School gym starting at 6:30 PM.

November 7, 2012 Meeting Cancelled
Due to the severe snow storm today and that the road conditions are not the greatest we are cancelling our regular meeting for November 7, 2012. Our Scout Group will be meeting next week at the Parkallen School on November 14th.
Please note that our annual march in the Remembrance Day Parade at the U of A Butterdome is this November 11th. Please arrive in full uniform and meet me, Robert Leddy on the floor of the Butterdome no by 9:30 AM. There is free parking at the University of Alberta for this special day.

2012 Halloween Party & Fall Camp
On October 24th, all sections of the 24th Parkallen Scouting Group will be meeting at the Parkallen School Gym at 6:30 PM for a Halloween Party. Everyone is to come in costume and have some Spooky Fun. There will be a piñata breaking fun to be had.
This weekend is our annual Fall Camp at Camp Evansburg (October 26th - 28th). This camp is for all sections and there will be lots of fun with events like Food Fear Factor, Camp Fire and our night game called Mission Impossible.
There will be no meeting on October 31st due to Halloween Night.

First Meeting and Registration Night September 12th
Our first meeting for all sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers) will be on September 12, 2012 at the Parkallen Elementary School starting at 6:30 PM and ending at 7:55 PM. We will be accepting registrations for all interested youth.
Registration Fees as of September 1st:
$180 per Youth
$405 Per Family (3 of more Youth)
Our Scout Group does not charge any other additional registration fees. There are additional charges for camps and fieldtrips during the scouting year.
Parents are required to purchase a uniform and book (Cubs & Scouts) for their child which are available at the Scout Shop (14205 - 109 Avenue). Our group provides all badges and scout scarf.
We are also accepting registrations for new Leaders and Parent Volunteers in all levels of our program. We cannot provide an excellent program for your childred without your help. There are no registration fees for Leaders or Parent Volunteers and we provide all that you need (uniform, training) and no previous experience in Scouts is required. We are accepting full-time and part-time volunteers.

Early Registration Night August 29th
24th Parkallen Scouting Group will be having our early registration night on August 29th, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Parkallen Community Hall.

Spring Thaw 2012
I know you have been working hard all of May to be prepared for this challenge camp and is showed.
I would like to congratulate 26th St. Peter's on their First Overall and 1st Wetaskiwin for their Second Overall finish. It was fun to see all the Scout Groups who attended and the leaders and volunteers who made this a great camp.

2012 Fort Edmonton Camp
The Fort Edmonton Camp is introductory camp for 3rd year Cubs and new Scouts. This is a fun camp full of activities from Archery, capture the flag, trebuchets, wide games, wood carving, defend the fort, gold panning, geocaching, rope making, leather working and my personal favourite JOTT. There is a campfire celebration, food challenge, Scout Truck Racing, silk screening and badge trading. This camp is held every year at the Fort Edmonton Park.
