Remembrance Day Parade 2015

Every year the 24th Parkallen Scouting Group participates in the Remembrance Day Parade at the University of Alberta Butterdome (corner of 87 Avenue and 114 Street).  Please dress in full dress uniform and arrive no later that 9:30 AM.

This is a special time for our youth to march alongside with our veterans, those who currently serve in our armed forces and most of all remembering those that have gave their lives during times of war, armed conflicts and in peace so we can live in freedom today.

Please leave your Food Bank donations and bottles (milk containers, plastic & glass, as well as aluminum cans (pop, beer & juice) on your front step by 9:00 a.m.

All volunteers (Parents, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers) please meet at the Skate Shack located behind the Parkallen Community Hall (11104 & 65 Avenue) at 8:30 a.m.

   Beans with/without Pork

   Canned Fish or Meat

   Macaroni & Cheese Dinners or Pasta

   Baby Food or Baby Formula

   Peanut Butter

   Powdered Milk

To help families plan for the 2015/2016 Scouting year we have posted our meeting dates for both September and October.

September 2015 Meeting Dates

September 16th - Parkallen School Gym

September 23rd - Edmonton Corn Maze (Weather Permitting)

September 30th - Parkallen School Gym

October 2015 Meeting Dates

October 2, 3 & 4th - Fall Camp (all sections)

October 7th - No meeting (due to Fall Camp)

October 14th - Parkallen School Gym

October 17th - Fall Bottle Drive & Food Bank Drive

October 21st - Family Swim Night (Common Wealth Pool)

October 28 - Parkallen School Gym (Halloween Party)

First Meeting of the 2015/2016 Scout Year (Sep 9th)

Our first meeting for the new Scouting Year will be on September 9, 2015 at the Parkallen School Gym starting at 6:30 PM


We currently have space in all our program sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Venturers).

We do offer two free visits for anyone interested in see what a program is about.




Registration costs for our group is the Scouts Canada basic fee which is $190.00

Winter Camp 2015

Winter Camp 2015 at Camp Evansburg is just around the corner.  This camp is open for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections and we will be will be staying at Camp Evansburg in Evansburg, Alberta from Feb 27th to March 1st.

Activities at this camp are our Cub Car Racing Classic, Camp Fire, Winter outdoor skill development, hiking, tobogganing / tubing, cooking and games.
