What a Great Year

Our Scouting year has come to a close for 2010/2011. I would like to thank all the parents, children and our volunteers for all the hard work you had put into this scouting year. I know all the beavers, cubs and scouts had lots of fun bringing on the adventure.

I am also pleased to announce that our Scout Troop won the Chris Buchkowski Award for best campsite, first place in the Snoopy's Biplane challenge and First Overall Award for best Troop at the Spring Thaw Camp this year. I like to thanks all the Scouts who attended this camp for all their hard work to achieve this level of honor. I would also like to thank Scouter Gerry and Scouter Krista for all their time and effort in creating a top notch scout program.

Just a reminder that all early registrations before September 1st for the 2011/2012 Scouting Year will be at the 2010/2011 rate.

I look forward to seeing everyone next year and wish everyone a great summer.

Group Committee Meeting April 14th

The 24th Parkallen Scouting Group Committee will be meeting on April 14th at 7:30 PM at the Southgate Mall Food Court. All parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Spring Bottle Drive and Edmonton Food Bank Drive

April 9th is our annual Spring Bottle Drive and Edmonton Food Bank Drive. This is our last fund raiser for the year and we will also be collecting food bank donations. All our volunteers are reminded to meet at the Parkallen Community Hall by 9:00 AM. We will have snacks and drinks available for all who come out and help.

The Beaver, Cub and Scout sections were in for a treat as our very own Scouter Gerry hosted at Sea Critter Night at the University of Alberta. Our kids were introduced to many types of sea life and had a chance to touch or hold these creatures. Below are a few examples.

February Group Committee Meeting

Our Next Group Committee meeting for the 24th Parkallen Scouting Group is on February 17th at the Southgate Mall Food Court starting at 7:30 PM. Parents are encouraged to attend as this is a time where leaders and parents can meet and discuss upcoming activities.

Our next Group Committee Meeting will be on January 27th at 7:30 PM at the Southgate Food Court. All parents are welcome to attend and join the leaders in discussions on upcoming activities for our Scouting Group. Look forward to seeing you there.

2011 - Welcome Back

Happy New Year.

The 24th Parkallen Scouting Group will be starting up this week on January 5th.
